Special: Propaganda 2 – The Revenge

Greetings, Comrades!

My usual Stalin episode is written down, and all I needed was to record it. But then, as sometimes happens, my dad arrived, and this time, he was carrying some documents and books with him. They turned out to be Soviet reports of various peace conferences – and the collected works of Anna Sakse, a children’s writer…and a massive, massive propaganda master and state-paid spreader of lies, bashing the west at every opportunity. And this just turned out to be SO amazing, that I couldn’t resist – no, I must give you this! This episode will make you cringe, will make you laugh a bit…but when you think about it, it’s actually pretty sad. Anyhow, enjoy – and Stalin and PDRP coming up soon!

  1. Hey Kristaps,

I’ve just noticed that I now get ads on your podcasts when listening to them from the Acast RSS in podcast addict. It’s not that I have a problem with ads; after all half the podcast world is now trying to sell me mattresses and razors. But in this episode, I was forced to listen to the same ad from the beginning again around the ten minute mark, which is just too much.

Anyway, this was an interesting, if quite sad episode. Describing their propaganda as lies now sounds like a euphemism to me.

    • Heyhey. Sadly, I don’t control what ads are put where 🙁 and I have to host there, because it’s for free, and they’re based in Sweden. Anyhow, if you download directly from my homepage, you’ll never have to hear any ads.

  2. Loved this episode! What a great find from your Dad’s collection. Please pass on my thanks to your Dad.

  3. Into the Breach was the band you played at the end? The singer had a subdued Ian Mackaye vibe (Minor Threat, Fugazi). I digdug! Thanks for introducing them!
